1 - Chidambaram’s Book "Undaunted: Saving the Idea of India" Launched
A book namely “Undaunted: Saving the Idea of India” authored by former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, has released on February 8, 2019, at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Auditorium at Teen Murti Marg, in New Delhi, India.
During the launch of the book, former vice-president Hamid Ansari and Congress leader Salman Khurshid were also present there. The book “Undaunted: Saving the Idea of India” basically is a collection of essays narrating the country’s atmosphere of fear and how the constitutional values are being threatened.
2 - The Book “Law, Justice and Judicial Power: Justice P.N. Bhagwati’s Approach” Launched
On February 11, 2019, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi, has launched the book namely “Law, Justice and Judicial Power: Justice P.N. Bhagwati’s Approach.” The book, written by Professor Mool Chand Sharma, has 24 essays written in the honor of the late Justice P.N. Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India.
Dr. Mool Chand Sharma is a distinguished Professor of Law in University of Delhi and the Founder Vice Chancellor of Central University of Haryana. He worked extensively in the area of Constitutional jurisprudence; Law, Political Economics and development; Law, Politics and Democracy; Poverty and Human Rights jurisprudence.
3 - Nari-Shakti Announced as Hindi Word of the Year for 2018 – Oxford Dictionary
The Oxford Dictionary has announced that the word ‘Nari Shakti’ (or Women Power) as the Hindi Word of the year for 2018. The Announcement was made during a session at Jaipur Literature Festival held at Diggi Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The word ‘Nari Shakti’ is actually derived from Sanskrit language. In recent years, the term is widely used to symbolize women taking charge of their own lives. Furthermore, the term in itself enshrines women’s rights and ensure that women across the Hindi-speaking world and beyond are empowered.
4 - The Book “What Marx Left Unsaid’ Released
Manish Tewari, Indian Politician-cum author, has launched the book “What Marx Left Unsaid”- Production of Skills by Means of Skills. The book is authored by Dr. Malay Chaudhuri, Dr. Arindam Chaudhuri, and Che Kabir Chaudhuri.
The book discusses the theory of economic justice that creates a forceful case for an exploitation-free world. Further, it explains concept of a maximum wage ratio of the highest paid to lowest paid worker at 3:1. The book also elaborates that why human beings must earn as per their skills. The skill, in fact, determines the ability to contribute in society. However, the skill has to be measured fairly.
