News 1 - Nati folk dance of Kullu district enters Guinness Book of World Records.

01-Jan − The famous Nati folk dance of Kullu district in the state of Himachal Pradesh was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest folk dance in the world. The dance was listed in the Guinness Book of world records in terms of number of participants after 9892 women participated in the folk dance. This event was organized during the International Dussehra festival and phrased as Pride of Kullu. It was dedicated to the girl child.

News 2 - 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas held in New Delhi.

09-Jan − The 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) was held on 9 January 2016 in New Delhi. It was the first limited edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas. Going forward, it will be conducted as a biannual event. As a result, the next Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas conference will be held in 2017.

News 3 - 88th Annual Conference of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan inaugurated by the President.

10-Jan − The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the 88th annual conference of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan in Ranchi, Jharkhand. In this conference, delegates from all over the country attend to hold thematic discussions, meet Bengali authors, novelists, and poets, attend literary sessions, exchange thoughts with scholars of the other languages.

News 4 - International Kite festival started in Ahmedabad.

10-Jan − The 28th edition of International Kite Festival started in Ahmedabad. This event was inaugurated on the 10th January, 2016 by the Gujarat Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel at the Sabarmati River front. This festival of Gujarat marks Uttarayan, i.e., the day when winter begins to turn into summer, according to the Indian calendar. It is a five-day annual event.

News 5 - CII Partnership Summit 2016 held in Vishakhapatnam.

10-Jan − The 22nd edition of Confederate of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit -cum-Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Summit was held in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. As many as 1500 delegates, 350 them from abroad, participated in this summit. At the end of the summit, it was announced that MoUs entailing an investment of Rs. 4.78 lakh crore were signed during the three days.

News 6 - Constro 2016 focuses on 'Smart City' concept.

12-Jan − Constro Exhibition-2016 was held in Pune from January 14-17. The main focus of the exhibition was Smart City concept. It was the 14th edition of the bi-annual event and organized by the Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation (PCERF).
