News 1 - Australian bowler Clint McKay announced his retirement from international cricket

Australian pace bowler Clint McKay announced his retirement from international cricket. He will continue playing for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League (BBL) and for Leicestershire in the County Championship. McKay played in 59 one-day internationals, 6 T20 internationals and a Test for Australia.

McKay did not have outright pace, which seemed to limit his prospects. He played only one Test and six T20Is but his resume was stronger in ODIs - 59 matches, 97 wickets at an average of 24.37 and economy rate of 4.78.

News 2 - Iceland PM Gunnlaugsson resigned amid Panama Papers fallout

The Prime Minister of Iceland, Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson, resigned after leaked documents from a Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca, revealed offshore finance and tax evasions by him.

The leaks exposed Gunnlaugsson owned an offshore company, Wintris Inc., with his wife but had not declared it when he entered parliament. He is accused of concealing millions of dollars' worth of family assets. He said that he sold his shares to his wife, and denies any wrongdoing.

News 3 - Ukraine Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk resigned

The Ukrainian Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation. His decision comes two months after he survived a no-confidence vote in parliament. The government has been plagued by war, corruption and economic struggles.

The tough-talking Prime Minister's decision comes barely two months after he survived a bruising parliamentary no-confidence hearing in which MPs took turns takings jabs at the job he has done since February 2014. President Petro Poroshenko may appoint Volodymr Groysman as the new prime minister.

News 4 - England Cricketer James Taylor forced to retire

England and Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor was forced to retire at an early age of 26 because of a serious heart condition. He was diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) and needs an operation.

He played seven Test matches for England averaged 26 with top Test score was 76 against Pakistan in November 2015. He played 27 ODIs with an average of 42.23. He scored seven fifties and one century (101) against Australia in September 2015.

News 5 - Flipkart Chief Product Officer Punit Soni resigned

The chief product officer of Flipkart, Punit Soni has quit. He had joined the company in March 2015. He helped build products such as Ping, a chat application on the mobile app, and relaunch its mobile website, Flipkart Lite.

He is a former Motorola vice president. Prior to joining Flipkart, he worked with Google as a product management executive. His exit, which ends months of speculation on his exact moves, comes at a time when Flipkart has seen a management overhaul following several top-level exits, including that of commerce platform head Mukesh Bansal.

News 6 - Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath announced his retirement from limited-overs cricket

Sri Lankan left-arm spinner, Rangana Herath, announced his retirement from limited-overs cricket. He will, however, continue to play in Test matches. He announced his retirement to concentrate on Test cricket as well as to allow young players to be groomed for the 2019 World Cup.

In ODIs, he claimed 74 wickets from 71 matches and in T20I, he claimed 18 wickets from 17 matches.

News 7 - English Snooker great Steve Davis announced retirement

England’s snooker legend Steve Davis announced his retirement from the game at the age of 58 years.

Davis began his career in 1978 and dominated the sport in the 1980s, winning six world titles and was world number one from 1983 to 1990. In a career spanning 38 years, he won 28 ranking titles, putting him joint second on the all-time list with Ronnie O'Sullivan and John Higgins. His last match came on 10 April where he lost against Fergal O'Brien and failed to qualify for this year's World Championship.

News 8 - Zee Media Corp Group CEO Bhaskar Das resigned

Bhaskar Das, Group CEO - News Cluster of Zee Media Corporation has quit following his transfer to another Essel Group entity. He resigned as Chief Executive Officer of the company with effect from April 20, 2016.

Prior to joining Subhash Chandra-led Essel Group as chief executive officer (CEO) in 2012, he was president of media group Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL).

News 9 - Double Olympic Champion Felix Sanchez retired

Two-time Olympic 400m hurdles champion Felix Sanchez announced his retirement. The 38-year-old from the Dominican Republic won two world titles and two Olympic titles during his international career.

He won his first gold in the Olympics in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and second at the 2012 Summer Games in London. Sanchez reached the final at seven successive IAAF World Championships; only two other athletes in history have achieved such a feat in an individual track event.
