1 - I&B Ministry released e-booklet as Modi Govt 2.0 completes one year in office
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has released an e-booklet ‘One Year of Modi 2.0 – Towards A Self-Reliant India’. The booklet highlights the key achievements of the Modi government during the first year of the second term.
Abrogation of Article 370, settlement of the Ram Temple issue, criminalisation of triple talaq, Bodo accord and the amendment to the Citizenship Act have been listed in the booklet as key achievements of the government. It also highlights the government’s decisions for the welfare of farmers.
2 - Indian writer Kritika Pandey won the regional award for Asia in Commonwealth Short Story Prize
Indian writer Kritika Pandey won the regional award for Asia in 2020 of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for the best unpublished short fiction. She won the coveted honour for The Great Indian Tee and Snakes. It talks about love in an age of hatred and prejudice.
Pandey had been previously nominated for the Pushcart Prize. The other winners of the award are Innocent Chizaram Ilo (Africa), Reyah Martin (Canada and Europe), Brian S Heap (Caribbean) and Andrea E Macleod (Pacific).
3 - HRD Ministry launched “Safe online learning in the times of COVID-19”
Human Resource Development Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched the information booklet titled 'Safe online learning in the times of COVID-19' to raise awareness in students and teachers. NCERT and UNESCO have jointly developed this booklet which will facilitate in raising awareness of students and teachers as well as ensure timely action in cases of cyber bullying. This information booklet highlights the negative consequences of cyber bullying and ways to eliminate it.
In India, an estimated 71 million children aged between 5-11 years access the Internet on devices of their family members, constituting about 14% of the country's active Internet user base.
4 - Amish Tripathi launched new book ''Legend of Suheldev''
Amish Tripathi launched new fiction book - ''Legend of Suheldev: The King Who Saved India''. The book will be published by Westland Publications. The story of the book is Westland Publications. The book begins with Mahmud of Ghazni’s invasion and the massacre of the holy Somnath Temple.
The book further traces the epic adventure and inspiring legend of the warrior-hero King Suheldev, as he unites Indians across religions, castes, and regions, under his leadership, and mounts a fierce resistance against the foreign invaders.
